Private Factory

Die Ent-Industrialisierung der Städte schafft Raum für neue Nutzungsmöglichkeiten. Das Forschungsprojekt „Private Factory“ untersucht, welche urbanen Rohstoffe und lokalen Gegebenheiten eine postindustrielle Entwicklung im städtischen Kontext initiieren können.
Verpackungen und Pfandsysteme als typische städtische Ressourcen werden durch Umwidmung oder Zwischennutzung in Ihrer Rolle erweitert. Ein leerstehendes Ladengeschäft wurde wiederbelebt und diente als Arbeitsraum und Kommunikationsplattform.
Mit zunehmender Digitalisierung des Produktionsprozesses weitet sich das Berufsbild des Designers zu dem eines Prozessgestalters. Industrielle Produktionsprozesse können in Zukunft im Wohnzimmer stattfinden: Der Wandel, den das Desktop Publishing ausgelöst hat, setzt sich in Form des Desktop Manufacturing konsequent fort.

In Forschungsprojekt „Private Factory“ entstand ein Produktionsort für Dinge, die wir so noch nie gesehen hatten: Produkte, bei denen der Käufer immer auch Autor ist.

Packages and deposit systems play a new role by conversion or temporary use.
An empty shop site has been revived by installing a workshop and a communication platform.
In line with the shift digitalisation of production processes, the occupational image of the designer has broadnend to become a process designer. Industrial Processes could happen in our living rooms and the shift that has been ignited by Desktop-Publishing is now consequently extrapoltated into Desktop-Manufacturing.

„Private Factory“ created a production-site for things, that have never been seen bevore: The consumer became an author.
