Metadesign meets digital Fabrication and creates “Extreme Prototyping”. By defining a set of rules rather than a concrete design, students developed parametric cutlery series consisting of forks, knifes and spoons. Reapplying the methods of object-oriented programming onto physical objects, the style of letting go and not having perfectly fixed design unleashed surprising results. At the culmination, we projected directly onto our CNC mill in 1:1, shortening the iteration between design and production to a good 2 minutes in order to accelerate the evolution of our designs to a maximum.
